Collaborative Service Robots for Eldercare Facilities

Our aging population imposes various challenges related to caregiving supply/demand imbalances and seniors’ quality of life. Aether, a service robotic device, is being developed and will be tested to address these issues. The project involves the collaboration of an industry partner (JDQ Systems Inc.) and several local universities (UBC, SFU and BCIT).  The robot will be employed to assist seniors and their caregivers with their daily activities.
